Tama

Tama is the cat in the corner — GitCat's Safety-Manager mascot and the friendly face of the snapshot-before-everything system.

What this page will cover

• What her reactions mean — she pins a snapshot before every mutation and reacts to what's happening: working, celebrating a success, warning before something risky.
• Customizing her (in Settings ▸ Tama):
  • Show Tama — hide her portraits everywhere for a plainer look (status messages still show).
  • Sound effects — a few short chimes for her more significant moments, with a volume slider and a Test button.
  • Skin — swap her look and voice for a bundled character or one shipped by a plugin.
  • Motion — how lively her idle animation and reactions feel (Default / Calm / Lively).
  • Expressions — remap which face she makes for each moment.
